English Forum. 2-3 листопада 2017


2 та 3 листопада 2017 року запрошуємо фахівців з викладання англійської мови на освітній Форум, який спільно проводять представництво освітньої компанії Пірсон, Дінтернал-Книга та партнерський вищий навчальний заклад, Київський національний торговельно-економічний університет.

Під час першого дня заходу відбудуться виступи запрошених фахівців. Доповідачі на пленарних сесіях – фахівці з України, Великої Британії та Польщі. Другий день присвячено інтерактивним спеціалізованим сесіям, які підготували міжнародні експерти і викладачі ВНЗ та мовних закладів України. Під час Форуму у Вас буде можливість поспілкуватися з колегами та продемонструвати свої досягнення, а також проконсультуватися з колегами-практиками, викладачами з Великої Британії, Японії та Польщі. Протягом двох днів плануються дискусії з різноманітних питань та дебати стосовно тенденцій, сучасних та майбутніх, у царині викладання та навчання англійської мови.

Agnieszka  Hybel-Szymanska Agnieszka Hybel-Szymanska
Agnieszka is a graduate of Jagiellonian University in Krakow, where she studied in the English Philology Department. She has since been involved in education as a teacher and then through her work representing Pearson in Poland, Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia. She has extensive experience of managing projects connected with the implementation of new technology and learning solutions in different institutions across primary, secondary and university level.

Doctor Alla Dyadechko is an associate professor of the Department of Foreign languages of Sumy State University. She has extensive experience in teaching English to Adults and also in designing and running courses in English for Academic Purposes (EAP).
Colm Smyth Colm Smyth
Colm is a full-time lecturer at Tokyo Denki University who has also taught at Gyeongsang National University in South Korea and Nihon, Meisei, Kanto Gakuin and Dokkyo Universities in Japan. He has an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Birmingham in the UK and has spent the last three years building a six-million word corpus from football match reports published by eight different British newspapers.
Elena Volovyk Elena Volovyk
After graduating from Kiev State University, Elena Volovyk obtained a vast amount of experience as a researcher working in different research institutes affiliated with the Academy of Science of Ukraine. In 2000 Dr. Volovyk moved to the USA, where she contributed to several projects affiliated with Nationwide Insurance Group in Ohio, USA as well as lecturing at CSCC, Franklin University and Ohio State University. Her areas of particular expertise include Business Statistics in management and business analyses, effective process construction, IT applications in data processing and analysis, IT applications in education and management. Apart from her research experience, she also incorporated her knowledge into managerial and administrative processes while working for Pepsi-Cola International, Ukrainian Marketing Group, CSCC (USA), WIUU, etc. Elena Volovyk joined the faculty of Wisconsin International University in 2006. In 2011-2012 Ms. Volovyk was actively involved into the process of obtaining international recognition and accreditation of the WIUU MBA and BBA programs. For her contributions into the area of education, Dr. Volovyk was awarded the title of Honor Doctor of National Dragomanov Pedagogical University (Kyiv, Ukraine) in 2012.
Daniel Broomfield Daniel Broomfield
Dan is an examinations and business specialist who worked in France and Italy before coming to Ukraine in 2013. He has CELTA, FTBE and DELTA (Module 1) and a wide range of experience in a variety of different teaching contexts. His professional interests include studying etymology, the use of loanwords, and the concept of prestige in sociolinguistics.
Gennadii Bilous Gennadii Bilous
After graduating from the M. Kotsiubynsky Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University, Gennadii spent eight years teaching English, specializing in preparation for state exams and international tests of English. In 2016, he won the 2nd round of the Teacher of the Year competition and was awarded a diploma in the 3rd (All-Ukrainian) stage. In the same year, he completed his CELTA and began work as a methodologist with Dinternal-Books. He is also a PTE (Pearson Test of English) examiner.
Graham Jones Graham Jones
Graham has been working as a teacher and teacher trainer for 19 years in Europe and Asia. He has a CELTA and a Delta and is also an IELTS examiner and a CELTA Trainer. As well as being the Director of the London School of English in Odessa for 6 years, he also works for Dinternal-Books as their Senior Academic Consultant for Higher Education in Southern Ukraine. Graham has been involved in Business English teaching throughout his career and has taught in numerous companies including Philip Morris, Johnson & Johnson and Citibank.
Kris Kirby Kris Kirby
Kris has 10 years of experience in English language education in six different countries and a variety of institutions, including private high schools, language centres and international universities such as the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and Shanghai Ocean University. As well as teaching, Kris has provided professional development training to teachers in Thailand and in Ukraine. He has a PhD in zoology and received his diploma in English teaching (Delta) in 2015.
Larisa Yarova Larisa Yarova
Dr Larysa Yarova is an associate professor of the Translation, General and Applied Linguistics Department at the Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University in Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine. She is one of the three conveners of the English-Speaking Union in Ukraine (founded 2008) which is a part of the global ESU network and serves to increase international understanding, global awareness and friendship through the use of the English language.
Lidiya Oryshchuk Lidiya Oryshchuk
Lidiya is an Academic Consultant in English Teaching at Dinternal-Books in Kyiv, Ukraine. She has an MA in TESOL (with distinction) from LCC International University in Klaipeda, Lithuania. She has taught general, business, and academic English, as well as TOEFL and IELTS test preparation classes to young learners, teenagers and adult professionals in Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, and Lithuania. Her research interests include standardized testing and academic writing.
Liubov Kolot Liubov Kolot
Liubov is a senior lecturer at the Kyiv National Trade and Economics University’s Department of Foreign Philology and Translation with more than 20 years’ experience in General and Business English teaching. During her Master’s in the Management of Organisations she researched Educational Management. She has since taken an active part in the formation and development of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Philology at KNUTE and also initiated the launch of the KNUTE’s MyEnglishLab project in September 2017.
Lyudmila Sydorchuk Lyudmila Sydorchuk
Lyudmila is an Academic Consultant in ELT at Dinternal-Books. She has extensive experience in both general and business English teaching gained from more than a decade working with young learners, teens and adults. Before starting her teaching career, she studied English Philology at Kyiv National Linguistic University. She also has a degree from Kyiv Pedagogical College.
Margaryta Danilko Margaryta Danilko
Dr Margaryta Danilko is the Chairperson of the English-Speaking Union Ukraine, President of the ESU International Council, associate professor at Translation, Applied and General Linguistics Department at the Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University in Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine. She organizes and coordinates the activities of the ESU Ukraine, runs the National Public Speaking Competition and trains learners for debating and public speaking.
She participated in the BECA joint project ”Education for Democracy” between Montclair State University (the USA) and Kirovograd State Pedagogical University (Ukraine) between 2000-2003 and took part in the Joint UNESCO Chair –UNITWIN Project “Education as a Humanitarian Response” at the University of Oxford between 2005-2008. She has regularly been a delegate from Ukraine at the annual ESU International Council Meetings and World Conferences and has been involved in the ESU International Public Speaking Competitions for seven years. Her current research and practical interests include TEFL, Public Speaking, Academic Writing, Stylistics, Critical Thinking and Educating for Democracy.

Michael Hudson Michael Hudson
Michael has been teaching since 1999 and has an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL, CELTA and DTLLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector). He has worked in state education in the UK, universities in Japan and has either taught or worked as a teacher trainer in nine other countries including Italy, France, China, South Korea and Ukraine. His MA research focused on Task-Based Language Teaching and Computer-Assisted Language Learning. He started working with MyEnglishLab in 2013.
Mykola Skyba Mykola Skyba
Mykola Skyba is the education expert with the Ukrainian Institute for the Future. Mykola graduated from the History Faculty of National Taras Shevchenko University and later worked as a consultant of the National Institute of Strategic Research. He was the Head of the Agency of cultural strategies and the founder of the education platform “Next Generation Business School”. Mykola is the national coordinator of the COMUS project run by the Council of Europe. Research areas: Education 4.0, problem-solving approach in school education, lifelong learning and 21st century skills and competencies.
Nadiya Ivanenko Nadiya Ivanenko
Dr Nadiya Ivanenko, is an associate professor of the English Languages and Methodology Chair, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University in Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine. She did postgraduate research as a Chevening Scholar at the Department of International and Comparative Education, University of Oxford (2003-2004). She was also a member of the BECA joint project “Education for Democracy” between Montclair State University, USA and Kirovograd State Pedagogical University, Ukraine (2000-2003) and actively participated in the joint UNESCO Chair/UNITWIN project “Education as a Humanitarian Response” (2005-2008) that resulted in the number of conference and journal articles, conferences and seminars and publication of The Book on Education in Eastern Europe and Eurasia (2014, Bloomsbury, London). She is one of the three conveners of the English-Speaking Union in Ukraine (founded 2008) which is a part of the global ESU network and serves to increase international understanding, global awareness and friendship through the use of the English language.
Olena Fomenko Olena Fomenko
Olena Fomenko is an associate professor at the Institute of Journalism at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. She teaches General English, ESP and Academic English to Journalism students. Prior to the Institute of Journalism, Olena taught an array of courses in Linguistics and Communication studies at the Institute of Philology. She also works as Director of the English Language and Information Center at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv where she organizes teacher training seminars for the faculty and speaking clubs with native English speakers for students. In 2001-2002, Olena was a Fulbright Program fellow in Gender Studies at the University of Wyoming, USA. She holds a PhD in Germanic Languages. Her research interests include Discourse Analysis, Mass Media Studies, Gender Linguistics, The 21st Century Skills in Education, and Learning and Teaching with Digital Media.
Olena Tsyrkun Olena Tsyrkun
Olena is the director of the Institute for English-Taught Programmes at Kyiv National Economic University. She teaches Business English at the Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication. She is very much interested in innovative strategies of world-class universities and how they are implemented at KNEU. Together with her students she enjoys using digital tools in class.
Piotr Steinbrich Piotr Steinbrich
Piotr is a lecturer and teacher trainer at the Catholic University of Lublin, Poland. He does seminars and workshops for teachers of English in Poland and abroad. Piotr is also a consultant of ELT materials for young learners and teenagers. His interest include child development, classroom discourse and spoken language. Recently, he has decided to go back to the roots and bought himself a 1950s guitar replica which receives regular treatment in a duet with Piotr’s brother torturing his double-bass.
Scott Windeatt Scott Windeatt
Scott has worked at Newcastle University since 1989 and was head of the Applied Linguistics Section in the School of Education, Communication and Language Sciences from 2003 to 2009. He retired from his Senior Lecturer post in September 2017 but continues to work part-time supervising MA and PhD students on topics that include Computer-Assisted Language Learning, materials design and language testing.
Before working at Newcastle Scott taught at the University of Lancaster, and worked as a Research Associate at the Institute of Education in London. He has also taught in Finland, at the University of Bucharest in Romania, and at Klagenfurt University in Austria. Co-author of The Internet and Computer-Assisted Language Learning and Communicative Grammar, and joint editor of Language Teacher Education and Technology, he’s also given lectures, run workshops and carried out consultancies in a number of countries including Croatia, Denmark, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Portugal, Qatar, Tanzania, Thailand, the USA and Vietnam.
Svitlana Klochko Svitlana Klochko
Svitlana is an associate professor (PhD) in Age and Educational Psychology at Khmelnytsky National University’s Department of Foreign Languages with almost 14 years of combined teaching and research experience. Her interest in teaching ESP came from a range of seminars and training sessions she attended, including online teacher development courses. This also enabled her to get the FTBE qualification in 2016. She is also involved in developing and delivering projects with the US Embassy in Ukraine.
Svitlana Mikhno Svitlana Mikhno
Svitlana is a teacher of English of the Department of foreign languages of Sumy State University. Sumy State University is the first Ukrainian higher education institution to pass an independent external audit of the QS Company (2014) and was given the highest points (5 stars) in such categories as Teaching, Engagement, Access and E-learning. In her work and research, Svitlana is actively promoting computer-assisted learning, e-learning and distance education.
Yuliya Drozdova Yuliya Drozdova
Yuliya is an associate professor (PhD) in Organisational Psychologogy at the Kyiv National Trade and Economics University’s Department of Foreign Philology and Translation. She has 17 years’ experience in general and business English teaching. Her professional interests include motivation, self-determination and personal effectiveness.
Yurii Semenov Yurii Semenov
Dr Yurii Semenov is the Head of the Foreign Languages Department of the State University of Telecommunications (Kyiv). In the course of his professional career he was involved in several international ELT projects such as the Peacekeeping English project (2000), ELT project for Civil Servants (2006), Testing and Assessment project (2010). Yurii was also involved in educational exchange programmes with the UK, Canada, the USA, France and Germany. Yurii is an associate professor of the Department of Foreign Languages where he is collaborating on the development of a holistic system of English language teaching for Specific Purposes. Yurii’s research interests include educational management, efficacy and ELT materials’ development.
